We have work to do.
The need for water unites all people who share this blue planet. For many Americans, it is impossible to imagine a single day without access to clean, safe water. However, unsafe drinking water is one of the many challenges that disproportionately affect Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in the United States.
We cannot remain complacent while systems of racism
and inequality threaten people’s lives.
Project WET is dedicated to providing equal access to water education for all. In addition, we commit to the following:
• Prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion in all our publications and resources
• Increasing availability of Project WET programs in Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities
• Incorporating diverse voices into our organizational leadership
• Listening, learning and doing the hard work needed for real change
Project WET strives to create an inclusive environment for people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities,
sexual orientations, ages, abilities, religions and socioeconomic statuses. We acknowledge that the pursuit of
justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) is an ongoing process and we hold ourselves accountable for
continuous action.
